Student Leaders and SRC

Our first fundraiser for the Royal Children's Hospital - Good Friday Appeal

Good Friday Appeal Fundraiser Huge Success!

On the 28th March, our Student Leaders and SRC held a casual clothes day full of activities to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal.

Every year on Good Friday, the Good Friday Appeal launches a statewide telethon, raising money for the Royal Children’s Hospital. In recent years, the telethon has had huge success, raising $22 million in 2022! The money not only goes towards new technology and equipment for the hospitals, but also to research, scholarships, family care plans and more. Since it began in 1931, the Good Friday Appeal has raised more than $421 million in donations.

With many of our students having made visits or stayed at the Royal Children’s Hospital in the past, Sandringham College found it fitting to raise money for the cause through a casual clothes day, a bake sale, live music and more. And now that the money has been counted, we are proud to say we raised an amazing $1202 for the Good Friday Appeal!

Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of those involved in preparations, but also everyone who donated. Even if it’s just a dollar, every cent donated goes towards helping those in need get the treatment they so desperately require. So once more, a huge thanks to all the teachers, parents and students involved in making our fundraiser possible.
