Writing

In commemoration of Remembrance Day, the students viewed a video explaining the significance and what life would have been like for someone during a time of war. They used the video as a guide and were asked to imagine they were military personnel during a time of war. The students were asked to write a snapshot using their 5 senses. The students embraced the activity and seemed to truly capture what it may have been like.

Maths

Recently, the students have been learning about patterns and algebra, where they created number patterns using addition, subtraction and multiplication. They have also been learning to use function machines to apply mathematical rules to numbers or shapes. The students can be seen in photos below creating different number patterns using chalk outside; they could create a pattern using numbers, shapes, colours, letters or pictures.

First Reconciliation

On the morning of Friday 19th of November, the Year 4 students completed their First Reconciliation. The students walked over to the church and completed the Sacrament of First Reconciliation by reflecting on what it means to forgive and to be forgiven.
