Hi parents, guardians, staff and friends!
We continue to welcome all new children and families to TheirCare this term and we are very happy to see more children attending our program. We are excited to be meeting more and more of the brilliant people in this beautiful FWPS community!
During our holiday program we were excited to welcome back Louise after being away to attend and finish her final placement for her teaching degree. Welcome back Louise, you were missed!!
The holiday program was lots of fun. We were lucky to have a whole 2 weeks with the children. There was no doubt that we had a lot of fun on our excursions and even when we had incursions at the service. In the first week, we had a lot of fun making superhero masks, capes and we also went to Bounce as well as Funtopia. There was no doubt we had a lot of fun. In the second week, the fun continued starting with a Lego incursion, then being able to wear our PJ's for the whole day, and even getting some yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows. Towards the end of the holiday program, we also had two awesome excursions. 90 children went and saw the new movie Elemental and to finish our week off we spent 2 hours at Inflatable World - the kids were very tired after that! We had an awesome 2 weeks with the children, and we look forward to continuing that heading into Term 3.
It is hard to believe that we have almost finished our first week back of Term 3. This year is going so quickly. This week the numbers have been up and down with mornings being low attendance but afternoons going strong with numbers between 60 to 80 children. It was awesome to see some of the children that went away for the holidays and also the children who got to spend their holidays with their families. This week’s theme is ‘Welcome Back to School’ where we are focusing on the children and helping them transition from holidays back to school. This week we have been encouraging lots of group games both in the morning and afternoon. So far in the mornings, we have had daily soccer competitions and drawing competitions. The group games and activities continue in the afternoon with massive games of footy, cricket, and playing Lava Monster which is Louise’s favourite game to play with the children. After so much fun and excitement this week, we are excited about what the rest of the term holds.
This week’s Star of the Week for TheirCare is Harry Lacy for being a great helper before school and on top of that always being great with the other kids at TheirCare. Well Done, Harry, you should be proud of yourself!
