Consent2Go
Our new data collection and permission program, Consent2Go, is live! Parents are reminded to update their information as emails arrive, to ensure our school database is up to date.
We rely on parents being consistent and timely with providing authority for students to attend excursions. Without your permission, the provision of appropriate medical information and correct contact details being provided, your children may miss out on attending activities, or not receive the individual care they require whilst at school. Please help us in this regard.
If you need to update your Consent2Go details, then here's a link that allows you to access your recorded personal information. Just follow the link and enter your email address and you will be provided with an opportunity to make any adjustments to your information.

Student Management Changes - Primary
This semester we are trialing a new rewards system in the Primary School. We are going to raise the profile of our Houses (Reuben, Judah, Naphtali and Benjamin) and students will be able to contribute to House points by their good behavior. Teachers now have slips to give out any time during the day to any students they see showing effort, kindness, sportsmanship, leadership, encouragement, helpfulness, positive attitude, respect, a servant heart or tolerance and patience.
Each class will have a box for students to put their slips in. Points will be collated, communicated and celebrated with students at assemblies and other times during the term. As usual carnivals will continue to contribute to House points. At the end of the year students from the winning House will come out of their class to receive a special prize.
Just as we are improving our reward system we are also fine tuning our discipline system for consistency across the classes. Students who repeatedly display minor disruptive behavior that prevents teachers from teaching and students from learning will be sent to the office for a Time Out. Time Outs will work within our existing Step system. They will be recorded and every fifth Time Out will become a Step. As an immediate consequence students will lose time at either recess or lunch. As before, there are eight Steps in total in a year.
Uniform Fitting Centre - Busselton Campus
The Uniform Shop has had a major make-over during the break, and it looks great.
It opened for business last Wednesday, and already is having some wonderful reviews. The centre will be open each morning from 8:15am to 9:15am, and then again each afternoon between 2:30pm and 3:45pm. Once you have determined the items required, you can order immediately on the iPad provided, or alternatively, fill out a sheet and log your order at home later on. Of course, you can still order directly on the website as always (if no fitting is required). We anticipate that it will take two business days for orders to be ready to pick up from reception at Busselton. Please be aware that the process for replacing wrongly ordered items or sizes has changed, and refunds will take up to five business days to be put against your school fees. Correct items will need to be reordered by parents - no 'swaps' can occur.
If you are wanting socks or hats, there's no need to wait. They can be paid for and collected from the front office.
The College wishes to give special thanks to Mrs Riana Stuart for the huge number of volunteer hours she gave to see the transformation through. We are incredibly grateful!
Uniform Items Return Policy
With the changes to the way the purchase of uniforms occurs, please note the following important information regarding returns.
UNIFORM RETURNS POLICY
Please take due care with ordering uniform items. Should errors in orders be made, the following
processes are in place:
- All returns must be in their original packaging, unused and unlabelled.
- Manufacturing defects in items which will require replacement will be swapped out as soon as physically possible. These items are to be presented to the front office for inspection.
- Incorrect ordering or wrong sized items purchased will need to be re-ordered by parents, and the incorrect item presented to the front office. The items will be inspected, and a credit applied to fees within 5 working days.
Please ensure that you take the necessary precautions to avoid the need for returns.
Coffee Mornings for Term 3
Well, the text on this image is not actually true, but we have your attention. Friday mornings (fortnightly), the effervescent and delightful Mrs Tully puts out the fancy cups, has the kettle hot, and looks forward to welcoming any and all parents to stop by the Home Economics room for a cuppa. The first one will be on Friday August 3rd.
Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for reminders of the scheduled weeks when these will occur.
We wish to thank Jackie for her contribution to our community in hosting these mornings. She is invaluable, and we celebrate the love and laughter she provides.

Chaplaincy
Amy Taylor is a member of our community who is currently completing some youth studies which require her to gain work experience in a school environment. We are blessed to have her undertake this work experience in our College this semester in a chaplaincy role, alongside Mrs Kristy Langenhoven. Amy will be working on Fridays and we look forward to the support she will be providing to our students.
Lunch orders @ Dunsborough Campus
We are really excited to announce that Nick and Leanne Ford are offering our students (and staff) the opportunity to order some of their amazing food from a special Cornerstone Dunsborough menu each FRIDAY for Term 3.
The oldest child in each Dunsborough family will receive a hard copy of the menu which has information about what to order and how to order. You can print out copies of the emailed order form at home or collect additional copies from admin.
Please don't hesitate to contact Elle Maynard at the Dunsborough Admin if you have any questions.
Introducing Moira and Frik
We have a lot of volunteers we can celebrate at the College, and two more literally hit Australian shores just days ago.
Mr Frik and Mrs Moira Stuart are grandparents of students at Cornerstone, and the parents of our Business Manager, Frik. Mr and Mrs Stuart arrived in Australia last week, and are overseeing the canteen for the next few weeks until the tender process is completed. It's been a big job, but they have navigated the role with humour and grace. We are so grateful for the generous donation of their time.
Stop and say hello when you see them on the job.
CAPE REaD
Students in our lower primary school will be participating in a new literacy program, whose aim is to promote Early Literacy ideas, information and activities with local communities. It is being driven by a collaborative committee, and our Head of Primary, Judy Nolan is part of this regional team.
The Program is called Paint the CAPE REaD, and parents are asked to keep an eye out for an egg that will appear in some classes, that will grow over the course of the coming months, finally hatching as a mascot. The whole community will be part of this, and the endeavours of the children reading is communicated as reasons for the egg's growth. Reading makes it grow.
The red splodge seen above is the logo, and you are likely to see them beginning to appear around town.
Keep an eye out!
