The Principal's Pen

Welcome back to Semester 2. The busy end of last term saw a lot of activity across our College, producing great stories from the Sydney Canberra trip, the Primary disco and the Dunsborough talent night, as well as lots of good feedback in our Semester reports. This communication and sharing is vital as we build our culture of community in the College.

In our present age where communication is especially accessible we need to prioritise how and what we communicate. I always advise students to ask questions or to seek clarification of their teachers and I encourage parents to do the same. It was pleasing to see the number of parents taking advantage of the recent Secondary parent teacher night, meeting with teachers and discussing student progress. Although this time was specifically set aside for this purpose, it doesn’t need to be the only opportunity. Our partnership with our parents of all year groups is strengthened by open communication and contributes to our community.
