School Council
School Council Meeting
On 24 February, the final meeting of the existing School Council was held. The next meeting in March will be a handover to the new Council as elections have closed. As always, the reports were tabled and of community interest, the Education sub-committee shared that they were working on a plan for MPW Vision and Values, with the view that students must connect with it as they are the primary audience. The sub-committee is also currently reviewing the Mobile phone policy. Community engagement sub-committee continues to draft the Volunteers policy as we have many people in many different capacities volunteering at our school and whilst this is a great thing, we need to ensure we are following the right protocols and procedures. Environment and Sustainability Sub-committee shared that planning for the working bee on 15 March was in full swing and for more, please see the environment page in this newsletter. Kerri in her Principal’s report informed Council that final preparations for the 3/4 students and the first camp of the year in a few weeks was well under way. A curriculum day is to be held this Friday 6 March and the Professional Learning focus is Literacy.
This marks my final report for School Council, it has been a pleasure to work with many parents and staff over the last few years and I wish the new Council all the best for the future.
