GRADE SIX TRANSITION AT KTHS:

Over two full days this week, Wednesday, 27th and Thursday, 28th, Kerang Technical High School welcomed Grade Six students from Kerang Primary, Kerang South Primary School, Koondrook Primary School, Murrabit Primary School, and St Joseph’s Primary School as part of our Transition Program.

The program gave students a valuable opportunity to experience what high school life will be like. They moved between classrooms, engaged in a variety of subjects, and became familiar with the structure and pace of a six-period day.

Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the cooking session as a favourite activity—especially the chance to make their own pizzas.

We were delighted to host the visiting students and look forward to supporting them as they prepare for their transition into secondary school. Photos capturing the highlights of the Transition Days will be featured in next week’s iNewsletter.

SAVE THE DATE - AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY CAREERS EXPO:

On Wednesday, 11th September, Kerang Technical High School will proudly host the Agricultural Industry Careers Expo. This exciting event brings together a wide range of local exhibitors, including AWMA, Dunstans, Dairy Australia, Border Vets, and the Irrigated Farming Network, to showcase the diverse employment opportunities available within the agricultural sector.

Students will have the chance to explore the different types of machinery and equipment used across the industry, as well as gain insights into livestock management. Sheep, goats, and cattle will be on display, with industry experts demonstrating key practices such as fat scoring and pregnancy testing of ewes. A new addition to this year’s expo is the bee store, providing a fascinating look at apiculture and the growing importance of bees in agriculture.

The Expo will welcome students from Kerang, Cohuna, Boort, Pyramid Hill, and Swan Hill, offering them valuable exposure to the many career pathways that agriculture provides.

Now held every two years, the Agricultural Industry Careers Expo is rapidly developing into a must-attend event on our school calendar. We extend our thanks to the local businesses for their ongoing support and acknowledge the outstanding work of Krystal Grills in organising this year’s program.

A reminder that our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback.

The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
