Fiddler on The Roof - News to Cast & Crew

To parents of cast and crew for Fiddler on The Roof. Please read the below note from Annie McDowell.

Go The Extra Mile

Once again BHCS is partnering with ‘Houses of Hope’ to raise awareness of and support for communities that are in a disadvantaged position.

Our aim is to give our students in Junior School a more global perspective of the world. We will be encouraging our students to look at solutions and how they can, even as young children, help others in need.

As part of this endeavour, we are promoting a ‘Go the Extra Mile’ t-shirt that can be worn during the fundraiser and also on our ‘BOOM DAYS’ throughout this year and the years to come. The t-shirts will cost $30, with approximately $6 of this purchase, going directly to our fundraising. We really hope that you will support this initiative.

A letter to all Junior families will be sent home shortly with instructions on how to place an order. Orders will need to be placed by next Wednesday, 26th of July.

Older students and parents can also purchase t-shirts in support. Please contact lgoldrick@bhcs.vic.edu.au if you would like to be involved.

Bus Driver Needed

BHCS is looking for a "fill-in" bus driver to help out when we have a driver away or on holidays. This is not a full time position but for someone needed on a very occasional basis. The driver would need a medium rigid or greater licence, as well as two recent references, a current Working With Children's Check, a current Drivers Certificate, and a Level 2 First Aid Certificate. Contact reception for inquires.

Woolworths Earn & Learn 2017

This year we will be participating in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. Through this program we will be able to get new educational resources for our school/early learning centre – and all we need you to do is shop for your groceries at Woolworths.

From Wednesday 26th July to Tuesday 19th September, we are collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers.  You will get one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for every $10 spent. Place the Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker onto a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet (attached below) and when it’s complete, the Sticker Sheet can be dropped into the Collection Box at the School Reception.

At the end of the promotion, we’ll be able to get some great new equipment. The range is extensive and offers lots of items ideal for our students – including resources for Maths, English, Science and some fantastic fun supplies for Arts & Craft, Sport and for our library.

Community News

A big congratulations to Ziad and Amanda Zakharia (parents of Zane and Ariana) who were both contestants on Australian Ninja Warrior during the holidays.  The process to qualify for the show required incredible fitness and strength, and it was so exciting to see someone we know take on the challenge!

As the only husband and wife team on the show, we enjoyed watching the feature they did on the family.  We hope it helps inspire Australian kids to enjoy being more active.  Congratulations Ziad and Amanda, on your determination, dedication and bravery!
