Reconciliation Week
27 May - 3 June
National Reconciliation Week – 27 May to 3 June – is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme for 2023 is Be a Voice for Generations.
Please keep an eye on the Qkr! app in the weeks to come for some fabulous merchandise for Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week. We will also send a brochure home via email with the available products pictured.
During Reconciliation Week on Thursday 1 June, students can enjoy a yummy Aboriginal flag mini donut and help support the local Aboriginal Youth Organisation, Tjindu. You can learn more about Tjindu here. As a Campus, we feel this is an exciting way to promote cultural awareness and support a great South Australian Aboriginal NFP (plus, everyone loves donuts!)
The donuts will be available to order from Monday 15 May until 10:00 am on Thursday 25 May on the Qkr! app via the canteen menu for $2.00 each. 50c from each sale will be donated directly to Tjindu. Donuts will be distributed to students in class on Thursday 1 June (week 5). Please note that some students may not receive their donuts until recess time due to swimming. Please pack enough food for your child in case they don't receive their donut before lunch.
Thank you to our ACEO, Kylie Hagan for organising this fundraiser.
