“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised from the dead, you will be saved”. Romans 10:9:

Dearest Marian Community,

As our College term comes to a close, so does our Lenten journey. Term 1 has proved to be an exciting and eventful term, as our College spirit was brought back to life through the many opportunities that we were able to engage with. This term was highlighted by Caritas - Project Compassion, Harmony Day and our Easter Liturgy.

Harmony Day was again an immense success with Marian demonstrating once again how its diversity is its strength. The showcase of the performance was something that awed the community and the food stalls were a hit! I want to stress, Harmony Day is not one stand alone day. We are Marian Catholic College, we embrace our uniqueness, celebrate our differences and strive to accept and respect everyone. We hope to build on the foundations of the success of this year and look to make our Harmony Day for 2024 even bigger. It is no secret that events like Harmony Day would not be possible without the support of the amazing staff and students at Marian Catholic College. I would like to thank the following people for their continued support of Harmony Day.

An immense thankyou to the following:

  • Evelina and Mel Blanco
  • Julie Cavallaro, Cathy Quarisa, Wendy Brooker, Francine and Michael Dilorenzo, Toni Griffiths, Rose Turunen and the team of T.A's
  • Renae Savage and the Year 12 Leadership Team
  • Sanita Lole
  • Rajwinder Kaoor
  • Kenta Arai
  • Albert Alexander/Michelle Swan/Taryn Field
  • Matthew Segrave
  • Lora Segrave
  • Office staff

Without all your support and efforts behind the scenes, events such as Harmony Day would not be possible.

Our Easter Liturgy was a success and I thank Fr Cyprian for again providing another service that allowed our students and staff to connect to our faith and rejuvenate our spirit, as we head towards the end of our Lenten journey.

We now look forward to Term 2, where it will be another term full of opportunities for our College community to demonstrate the Marian spirit and further develop our compassionate culture that we are building. In Term 2, we have I-Care Kits, our Brendan and Marcellin Feast days, and the recommencement of the class visits from our College Chaplain Fr Cyprian. I-Care Kits will be our College service project for Term 2, where each year group will require its students to donate a particular item to support those less fortunate within our Griffith community. Each year group will be allocated two particular items that will lead to the success of this project. More information about I-Care Kits will be released in Term 2.

Marian, you finished Term 1 in true Marian spirit and I cannot wait to see how you continue to flourish in Term 2. I wish you all a very happy Easter and a well deserved break. Enjoy your time with your families and your break from studies, ready to come back for Term 2 rejuvenated, refreshed, ready to grow and take on the new challenges and opportunities that come our way.

Until next term, remember ...

“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions”

Happy Easter to all,
