As Term One draws to a close we reflect on all of the fantastic events and experiences our staff and students have either facilitated or taken part in so far this year. From welcoming our new Year 7’s to the college, celebrating our Harmony day to joining together as a College community, the MCC has shown through all events and interactions so far..

Last week we celebrated our Harmony Day together. This event is one of the highlights on the calendar as we all join together to celebrate our diversity. I am always filled with pride when I see the students performing, the staff support, the enthusiasm of our students and the general ‘buzz’ in the College as we all embrace our College dynamic.

Something to highlight moving forward into Term 2, a reminder that students should be returning in their winter uniform and be aware  that students should not have bright unnatural coloured hair, appropriate hairstyles and natural coloured nails. It is also important to remind our students that e-cigarettes are considered illegal by the College and any students caught smoking, dealing or hiding e-cigarettes will be sent home and parents contacted.

On Wednesday Night the College also held our first Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences for 2023. The Conferences were held via Zoom for Years 7-11. I thank all the parents, students and staff who took the time to attend and engage in valuable learning discussions. For parents and students that did not attend, I encourage you to take part next Term to help build the partnership of learning between parent, student and teacher.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and restful Easter break and holiday.
