 Australian Age Swimming Championships

Congratulations to Year 11 student Xavier Collins who went to the Australian Championships over the holidays. A massive achievement on its own exceeding his, ours and his Coaches’ expectations.

 

Xavier entered the following events qualifying for the National Final in all events, and received the following medals/recognition (all swims producing personal best times):

  • 50m Freestyle
  • 100m Freestyle
  • 200m Freestyle
  • 400m Freestyle
     
  • National Silver Medal - 200m Freestyle
  • 4th place in the National Final - 100m and 400m Freestyle 
  • 6th place in the National Final - 50m Freestyle

Club and State Relays:

  • Club 4 x 50 Free Relay - 8th highest ranked club in Australia, 
    1:36.98 (U16 WA state record)
  •  Club 4 x 50 Medley Relay - 8th highest ranked club in Australia, 
    1:47.98 
  • WA State team 4 x 50 Free Relay, 3rd place,
    1:35.99 (U17 WA state record)

World Transplant Games

Congratulations to Deakin Tran from Year 11 who recently competed in the World Transplant Games. The World Transplant Games is an international event held every second year in a different country and the athletes have had some form of transplant. This event is a celebration of their gift of life. Deakin had a liver transplant when he was just 14 months old.

 

Deakin competed in the 15-17 year old male 100m sprint and long jump. He won gold in both events and also bronze in the 4x100m relay. He also won a silver medal for the Australian Team in the 100m Freestyle 15-17 year old males race at HBF Stadium.
