From the Principal

Welcome to Week 1

I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to seeing you all again over the coming weeks. It has been great to hear from the children about their holidays, from chilling at home to heading off on a trip, it sounds like a good time was had by all.

The new building is progressing on schedule. On Friday of next week, May 12, the concrete will be poured. This will mean disruption during drop off along Barrington Avenue. It will be a good idea to drop off along Whittington Street on this day. Once the slab is laid, structural steel will begin to appear after a week or so.

This is a school concert year.  The event will be held on Thursday, July 6 in our Sacred Heart Centre.  There will be a matinee and evening performance.  The theme is 100 years of Disney. There will be two performances during the day (commencing at 10:00 and 1:00) and one in the evening commencing at 6:30. More information will be circulated from class teachers for what promises to be a wonderful community event.

Congratulations to Mr Matt Burness and his wife Brittany who are welcoming their first born into the world shortly. We all know what an exciting time this is in our life's journey and we wish them all the very best.

As I wrote at the conclusion of last term, Term 2 means the transition to winter uniform. There is a "grace" period of a couple of weeks as the temperatures tend to remain warm.   A reminder that all students should be wearing the correct school uniform at all times.  I appreciate that there are times when things haven't dried  or something has gone missing. On these occasions, please let your child's teacher know.  A reminder that we do have school beanies as part of the uniform, these are great for keeping cold heads warm on a chilly morning.  The new long sleeve sport polo is another great addition to the winter uniform.

Please note that Friday, July 7 is a Pupil Free Day. The staff will be engaging in a Professional Development Day. The last day of school this term is therefore, Thursday, July 6. School will conclude on this day at the 3:15 followed by the concert in the evening.
