Staff as Learners

On Tuesday 28th March, all teachers and learning space staff participated in an off-site professional learning day with well-respected educational consultant, Bronwyn Ryrie Jones.

Staff learnt about effective strategies to create reliable and valid assessments to determine student achievement. They analysed a range of assessment pieces, suggesting possible adjustments for each of them to ensure that that they were able to measure the desired skills and knowledge.

Staff had an opportunity to reflect upon and refine assessments that they had created, applying the strategies that they had learnt during the day. Key learnings will guide staff as they plan for future assessment tasks to ensure that student learning is considered fairly.
