English

Units 3 & 4

Year 12

What is the subject about

Units 3 and 4 for VCE EAL English develops confident, articulate and critically aware communicators in written and spoken language. The principles within the study design include the explicit teaching of language and speaking and listening activities, as well as ensuring that there is some flexibility around the types and the length of texts available for the study, to assist students in achieving the written outcomes. EAL allows learners to engage with audio-visual texts and further develop their listening skills. EAL English extends students’ English language skills. It assists them in understanding how culture, values and context underpin the construction of texts. EAL English also assists students in making informed choices to further establish a sense of who they are and their place in the world.
