Pi Day is celebrated around the world on the 14th March. Pi “π” is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant - the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (which is approximately 3.14159).

Pi Day is an annual opportunity for mathematical enthusiasts to try and recite the infinite digits of Pi and celebrate Maths in general.

As the 14th March occurs on Labour Day this year, we have decided to celebrate Pi Day on Tuesday, 15th March. The Senior VCAL Numeracy classes and Ms Peterson have created some fun challenges which will occur at both recess and lunch, and during Maths classes on the day.  Prizes will be awarded!
