On TRAK

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

Mother Teresa

This year we have started with a strong focus on learning – we are celebrating learning.

Teachers are investing time in reviewing their teaching practices to ensure that the new knowledge and ideas are being explicitly taught.

Students are being encouraged to actively engage and reflect on their learning.

Making the most of each moment, each day and giving their best in the classroom is vital.

Mother Teresa, Catholic nun and missionary reminds us that what happened yesterday is now gone and there is no point worrying about what might be in the future. Her encouragement to focus on now, to embrace today is a timely message for us.

How we show up to class, to work, to our family gathering, sporting event matters. Our new On TRAK program – teaching resilience, academic consistency and kindness aims to support each student to get back on track with their learning and behaviour. At our College Assembly this week we launched the new On TRAK program to our student body and spoke to the themes of perseverance and consistency.

The Hamilton and Alexandra College community aims to mirror our values in all of life: respect, gratitude, compassion, resilience, and optimism. Let us begin our work together as a learning community and enjoy the journey.
