Class Celebrations

Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...

Grade Prep

Level 5 has been a hive of activity this week with two phenomenal incursions, a transition and trial of playing on the forecourt and many new learning adventures across all subject areas. We are very proud of how the students have embraced each opportunity. Well done!

Hands on Science

On Monday the Prep students became scientist for the day and learnt about our five senses. They where amazed to discover how we use sight, touch and hearing to respond to light and sound. A highlight for the students was being given the chance to trial a number of different materials to discover how we use our sight, touch and hearing. We are excited to keep exploring these concepts in our Science lessons, through our unit on the five senses.

Daily Nutrition

Prep students learn and discover how we can fuel our body to become the biggest, best versions of ourselves. Students had the opportunity to trial a large range of vegetables, including lettuce and corn.  They learnt that eating our fruit and vegetables is in fact eating super hero foods! Each child had the chance to try a new fruit or vegetable and were all overjoyed to create there own superhero mask.

Grade 2

This term, the Grade 2 students participated in The Body Investigators Incursion by the Drama Toolbox. We dressed up as different parts of the body including white blood cells, red blood cells and neurons! We then acted out what these body parts do and discussed how we can keep our body healthy. Check out how awesome we look and some of our acting below!

Grade 3

Grade 3 have had loads of fun recently with Athletics Day, Cross Country Trials and a Mad about Science Incursion! It was wonderful seeing how hard each student tried in each event and having fun with their peers. In the Mad about Science Incursion, students learned about the human body and the different systems inside the human body. Students completed experiments such as observing the different reactions between chemicals in the body, and measuring heart rate.

Grade 4

Wanyara Incursion

The students in Grade 4 had a fascinating incursion on the 22nd of March. They learnt about symbols Indigenous Australians use in art and used them to create a painting of their own stories and experiences. They got to chat and ask questions about Indigenous culture and talk about the history of the land. They got to play traditional Indigenous Australian games and skills outdoors. Everyone had an incredible time learning about the custodians of the land.

Cross Country

Even though last week the kids got to participate in an incredible Athletics Day they got even more of a chance to burn off some energy on the 23rd of March. The weather was bright and sunny, the lake shone and glistened in the light, and the kids had lots of fun running and exploring the outdoors.

Grade 5/6

What a busy fortnight the Grade 5/6s have had! Students were leaping over hurdles and high jump poles, racing along in the 100m sprint, throwing shotput and discuss, and supporting team members on the Grade 3-6 Athletics Day. We loved all the great sportsmanship we saw. What a blast!

The fun didn’t stop there though, with our Grade 3-6 Cross Country happening the week after. Students had to switch up their strategy from the fast 100m sprints and hurdles to this much longer race. What a great job our students did in persevering and supporting other students even when tired.

We also celebrated World Maths Day by participating in the Mathletics Live challenge where students were able to compete against students from all over the world. Students were very excited to participate and some even continued at home.

Grade 56A:

93% of 56A completed their Mathletics homework this week! This is trending upwards from last week when 85% of the class completed their Mathletics homework.

Grade 56B:

100% of students with access to a device completed their Mathletics homework this week. What an amazing effort from Grade 5/6B!
