What's  Happening

MPS EASTER RAFFLE

Yes, the annual Easter raffle is almost upon us again!

In the next few weeks, children will receive a raffle book of 10 tickets to sell.

In the meantime, donated Easter eggs for the raffle would be most welcome and can be dropped off in classrooms.

If you can also donate any spare cane or wicker baskets or decorative boxes, they will be gratefully received to help us package up all of the prizes.

The raffle will be drawn in the last week of term. You've got to be in it to win it!

MPS PICNIC 2022

The MPS picnic this year was held on a magnificent evening and provided a great opportunity for a get-together.

CLUBS HAVE STARTED!

Lunchtime clubs have now begun.

The library is open during the first half of lunch time every day and there are a variety of CLUBS for students to join during the second half of lunch, such as coding, Probots, Lego, colouring, performing arts and drawing. Students do not need to do anything other than turn up on the day.

We look forward to seeing the students joining CLUBS.

FROM OUR CANTEEN -HARMONY DAY SPECIAL LUNCH OFFER

The canteen is offering a special lunch celebrating Harmony Day on Thursday 17 March. The lunch will consist of either a beef lasagne, vegetable lasagne or a cheeseburger with a mini choc muffin and a Zooper Dooper for $10.

Orders close today.

**PLEASE NOTE NORMAL CANTEEN LUNCHES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THIS DAY.**

VOLUNTEERS...Please

The MPS canteen operates Tuesday to Friday for lunch orders and is also open at recess and lunchtimes for students to buy icypoles and snacks.

The canteen is currently looking for assistance in serving students at lunchtimes (especially on a hot day), and on Fridays assistance is required for preparing lunch orders. Any help no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you who have not volunteered before, please note the following:

All volunteers need a Working with Children Check card.  These are free for volunteer status and are valid for five years.

Please make sure that the office has a copy of your WWCC and that you have signed a Child Safe Code of Conduct form (also at the office). WWCC can be applied for online and are processed at the Post Office.

https:/WWCV.auspost.com.au/Volunteers

As soon as you have a receipt of your application lodgement, you are able to volunteer immediately.  Proof of receipt will be required to be shown at the office.

All volunteers must be fully vaccinated.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Susan.Hunt2@education.vic.gov.au or through the office.

CSEF INFORMATION

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

If you would like to apply for the first time, please contact the school office on 9568 1300

and ask for an application form.

You can also download the form, and find out more about the program and eligibility, on the Department of Education and Training’s Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund web page.

Check with the school office if you are unsure, and please return completed forms to the school office as soon as possible.
