Easter Egg Donation

In order to create the prizes for the Easter Egg Raffle, we are having an Easter egg donation day on Monday 4th April.  On this day we ask that each family send in an Easter Egg/Bunny so that we can package them into prizes for the raffle. Easter egg donations are to be placed on the tables in the Community Hall upon arrival at school.

We are also looking for donations of cane baskets (or the like) to package our Easter egg prizes. These can be donated at any time and handed in at the school office.

Easter Egg Wrapping Morning

We will be holding an Easter egg wrapping morning (to wrap all our raffle prizes) on Monday 4th April straight after assembly. If you are able to help, please make your way up to the hall after assembly. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

No Dogs on School Grounds

Please be reminded that for the health and safety of all (and in fairness to all) no dogs, no matter how big or small,  should be brought into the school grounds.

School Hours

We have noticed over the past few weeks that several children have been arriving at school very early or are not being picked up by 3:45pm. Supervision of children by school staff begins at 8:30am. Children who arrive at school before 8:30am must be booked into OSHClub for Before School Care. A reminder that all children need to be collected from school by 3:45pm. If parents are unable to collect their child by 3:45pm please book them into After School Care.

Inaugural School Advisory Council

Next week we will conduct our first meeting of our Inaugural School Advisory Council.

School Advisory Councils are now an essential operational component of all schools governed by Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools (MACS).  They provide a forum for consultation and participation for schools to work within the context of their specific local & parish community.

Our school, being one school in a multi-school parish, will initially form council alongside Annunciation School Brooklyn and St Augustine's Primary School Yarraville. The formation of the  multi-school/parish model was deemed the most appropriate model for the council in it's formative years noting that the structure may vary in response to the challenges/changes of the times.

In simple terms the full council will meet periodically together to discuss overarching council matters such as Catholic identity, mission, religious instruction, and connectedness to parish. Each school will break-out to address matters such as school improvement, master plans, enrolment trends and so on.

On Formation the Advisory Council will compose of:

  • The Parish Priest
  • The Principals from each of the three schools
  • A Parish representative
  • Up to three  Parent Representatives from each school

From our school we welcome Belinda Miller (Francesca - Year 4 ) , Goran Koltovski (William - Year 2, and Siena - Year Prep-2023) and Miriam Nicholls (Theo - Year 3 and Jemima - Year 6) as our parent representatives.

We sincerely thank Belinda, Goran and Miriam for accepting the invitation to join our  inaugural council and look forward to working alongside them.

Timetable Changes

Over the weeks leading up to the end of term, our timetable will alter to allow teachers to plan extensively for Term 2. This however does NOT effect the days on which your child is to wear their sports uniform except for the Preps who will need to wear it on Tuesday 29th March as well as Thursday 31st March .

School Athletics Carnival

Excitement is building for our Athletics Carnival which will be held next Monday Monday 28th March, at Moonee Ponds Athletics Track (Aberfeldie Park).

All children (Year Prep - Year 6) will be transported by bus and will return around 1:30 pm.

BUSES WILL BE LEAVING AT 9:10AM SO PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILDREN AT SCHOOL ON TIME.

Children will need to:

  • Wear their sports uniform and wear a T-shirt of their team’s colour
  • Bring a refillable water bottle
  • Bring play lunch (please pack an extra ‘something’ as the children will not be having lunch until they return to school)
  • Bring a small backpack to put everything in
  • Have an extra-large breakfast!

A reminder that lunch will be eaten when the children return to school.

Thankyou to those parents who have volunteered to to help out on the day. You will be contacted prior to the day confirming your attendance. Please note volunteers MUST be double vaccinated and have an up-to-date WWCC.

If you are yet to complete permission details for your child via Operoo, please do so immediately.

Our Athletics Carnival is always a lot of fun so let's hope the weather is kind to us.

Welcome Back!

Miss Debbie returned to school today (thank goodness) after getting married over the weekend, well rested and bursting to share her story.

For those of you hoping for a sneak peak of the wedding dress, here it is  (Miss Debbie was more than happy to oblige).

Have a wonderful week

God bless
