David's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we fast approach our Mental Health Festival and Harmony Day, please remember to book in for the amazing array of workshops during the Know Yourself, Show Yourself, Grow Yourself festival. We're excited to see all of you there, plus of course make sure that the Friday 25th March is in your diary for a party from 4 to 9 pm. Click on the links below for more information!

And talking of the Harmony Day Block Party - we need some parent volunteers:

Sizzle for Sunshine!

Help Sunshine Heights Primary School raise some funds to give our kids greater opportunities and fun times at the Know, Show, Grow Festival!

If you're a Sunshine Heights parent or carer available to help us host our barbecue on Friday, March 25 4-9pm contact Matthew Schulz 0409 626 619 (matthewlpschulz@gmail.com) or add your name to the Google roster now!

Our Student Leaders have been working in the past few weeks with Summer Howarth, a great friend of the school and the CEO of The Eventful Learning Co. Summer has been helping the students think about how they walk the talk of leadership, ready for the voting process to determine our new and diverse student leadership team next week.

Our year 1 students took their parents to the Botanic Gardens for a special excursion, sharing the learning they have been doing and having a picnic together. We loved being able to share this special occasion with our grade 1 parents (and grandparents) and look forward to more incursions and excursions with the Botanic Gardens throughout the year.

Finally, a massive congratulations to Ionna (Noni), from 4A, who represented Sunshine Heights in Western Metropolitan interschool swimming last week. She came 2nd in both 9 year old girls 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly so will be competing in regionals next. I was incredibly proud when her parents, Sky and Jamie, passed on the news, as I know Noni was nervous about competing in the butterfly. Its great to see students use their values of courage and commitment to push through and be so successful!
