Year F/1

It has been fun week in the F/1 room this week where we have had the chance to make a couple of fun crafts. 

In Maths we have started learning about the order of the days of the week and the months of the year. Each morning since the beginning of the year we have been using our daily calendar and this has really supported the students understanding of the days of the week. It is great seeing them link days of the week to fun things like Marc and their show and tell days. We created days of the week and months of the year spinners that the students can use to help keep track. They did an awesome job and it will be a great tool for us to refer to.

We were very lucky this week that we had a visit from Julie who is in the CFA. She spoke to us about safe places to lite campfires and to make sure we always put them out before we leave. They were also able to practice staying low as this is best when their is fire around. They all loved sharing about their parents who are in the CFA. 

This week we had a really cool 'show and tell' brought to school. Toby brought in his Pinocchio that his Dad had built and they worked together to paint. Toby was able to share with us that his Dad used timber to make it and that he was able to make it quick. They were all amazed by the creation and they loved seeing Pinocchio come for a visit to school.
