School Council Elections

Congratulations to Gareth Lewis and Selby-Lynn Nicholas (re-elected) and Lela McGregor (elected for the first time) for their successful nominations for our 2023-2024 School Council. Thank you too to Troy Richardson (elected member 2021-2022), Rohan Bentley, Eugene Dapper and Dan Quinn for their nominations. I look forward to continuing to work with Troy and Rohan as a part of the Traffic Safety Working Group and I’m sure Eugene and Dan will continue to contribute to our school across their time here. Our first School Council meeting will be held next Tuesday and will meet a further seven times across the year, supporting the strategic direction of the school and leading the work of the School Council Sub-Committees.

Education Sub-Committee

Our Education Sub-Committee is formed for the purpose of:

· Using the Department of Education (DE) policy guide to recommend policies to School Council.

· Review the school ‘Annual Report’ and ‘Annual Implementation Plan’ and recommend their approval to School Council.

The group meets once or twice per term, generally online after hours (6:00pm) to ensure broad engagement across our community. We have had a small and dedicated group of members across my first few years here and I would be keen to expand the group moving forward. If you are interested in joining us, please email me at the link here and I’ll give you a call with more information.

Buildings and Grounds Sub-Committee

Our School Council will be introducing a Buildings and Grounds Sub-Committee this year. The purpose of this group will be to support the school with grounds projects and particularly in helping to prepare the school for Working Bees. We will be looking to meet once per month at school drop-off time. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Kaye Linsdell, our Business Manager, at the link here.
