Wellbeing Wednesday

Heads of House

A focus on wellbeing

WELLBEING looks and sounds differently for all and this was very true last Wednesday when students participated in the first Wellbeing Wednesday activities for the year.

Xanten spent the time finishing off decorating their Homerooms as part of their Homeroom competition. The challenge was not only to make it yellow but to find a way to represent each Homeroom’s culture.  Each dressed and draped themselves in House gear and took a Festive photo as part of the experience.  Magdeburg and Kilnacrott focused on team building through a range of games, some more formal than others. Prémontré students had the choice of guided meditation, board games or dodge ball. Tongerlo students engaged in board games, yoga, basketball, volleyball, craft activities, bingo or karaoke which saw some absolute ‘inner rock stars’ shine.

The ultimate goal for our wellbeing focus is to find ways for students to build relationships, engage in activities they want to do rather than have to do, and nurture the mind, body & spirit. It changes the mindset and was just what was required after a really busy term.

Thank you to the Student Leaders in each House who facilitated a lot of the activities and staff for assisting them. We hope that students and families take some time over the break to play some games, go for a walk, read quietly or catch up on missed conversations so that they return with a stronger sense of purpose.
