Zone Touch Football

Congratulations to Milika F and Kaan C who were both selected in the Zone Touch Football teams. Last week they played against other Zone team in the Sydney West Regional Carnival. Well done upon being selected in the team and representing our school with distinction.

Music

In K-2 Music we have been learning about pitch and the C Major scale using xylophones. We got to see how we can make a xylophone using water and glass jars. K-2 learned how different amounts of water can change the pitch. We also had fun mixing colours to make a rainbow and got to try out our new boomwhackers to perform some new songs as a class.

Years 3-4 notated the cup song in their books and have been learning to perform the rhythmic ostinato using their hands, a cup and a table. This activity has proven to be a popular one - especially for students who incorporated singing the song as well!

Years 5-6 have been listening to music excerpts to compare and contrast. We explored "My Island Home" by Christine Anu and The Warrumpi Band and students learned to drum 3 different rhythmic ostinatos using bucket drums and drum sticks.

School Attendance

Regular attendance at school is essential for your child to achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options. Schools, in partnership with parents and carers, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier and your child will build and maintain friendships with other children.

Please find attached an information brochure for parents and carers outlining attendance requirements. The document is available translated in different languages on the below link:

Fete Wrap Up

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Dundas Public School Fete! Your generosity and enthusiasm made the day a huge success, and really brought back the community feel.

We also want to extend a special thank you to all of the market stall holders, generous sponsors and volunteers who made the event possible, as well as our Principal, Mrs Shipley, and our amazing General Assistant, David, and all the DPS teachers who took time out of their busy weekend to join us. Your support means the world to us and we could not have done it without you.
