Education in Faith

Education in Faith encompasses the following areas: Religious Education, Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments.

Bless us, dear God, that we may have hearts full of your peace.

May we strive to be reconciled to You and to one another.

Help us to always remember and live by the words that Jesus shared

with his disciples when he taught them to pray:

“Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

Amen.

Reconciliation Celebration

As a Catholic Faith Community our Year 3 children will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Thursday the 23rd of March at 7.00 pm at St Fidelis' Church.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a time when we are given the opportunity to have a conversation with God, asking and receiving forgiveness for the bad choices that we have made and to continue to live in His light and Grace.

On the night, the celebration will be celebrated by Fr Linh and Fr Tran.  The children are to sit with their parents during Mass. The celebration will be a short mass including readings and prayers. At the conclusion of the prayers, the children's teachers will escort the parents/child to the priest for reconciliation. This is an opportunity for parent/s to introduce their child to Father.  The parent/s are then to return to their seats.  Once the children have had their reconciliation they are to collect a lit candle, place it near the altar and return to their seats to reflect and say a short prayer. After the final blessing, the children will receive their certificates. We look forward to celebrating this special event with you all on Thursday evening.

Foundation Buddy Mass

This Sunday the 26th of March at 11.00 am at St Fidelis Church, the Foundation Buddy mass will be celebrated. We look forward to seeing all the Year Six children and the Foundation children at this special celebration.

Celebrating Holy Week

Holy Week is the most important week in the Church's year. It is a time when we celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We remember his actions, reflect on his messages and recommit to living as his disciples in the world today.

As a Catholic school community, our children have been engaged in unpacking scripture about the events of Holy Week. Throughout Holy Week each level will be engaged in liturgy celebrating an important event of Holy Week. These liturgies will be celebrated on the following times and dates at St Fidelis church.

  • Monday 3rd April Foundation celebrating Palm Sunday at 2.45 pm
  • Tuesday 4th April Year 1/2 celebrating Holy Thursday at 2.45 pm
  • Wednesday 5th April Year 3/4 celebrating Good Friday at 2.45 pm
  • Thursday 6th April Year 5/6 celebrating Easter Sunday at 12.15 pm

We invite parents, grandparents and careers to attend these special celebrations.

Caritas Australia

Caritas serves the mission of the Catholic Church to serve the poor and promote charity and justice throughout the world.  At the beginning of Lent, each family received a Caritas Project Compassion money box where you were asked to make a small donation. Your generous support can help change the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. We ask that all money boxes are returned to school before the end of the term. Once again thank you for your kind generosity.

Thank you and God Bless,

Annette Gasbarro
