A Message from the Principal

Kindness Corner

Congratulations to Addison Allan, Billie Peach & Hendrix O'Loughlin for displaying kindness in the playground and helping the younger students play handball happily. Thank you for making our school a better place by your thoughtful actions.

Fair Play

Playing games is a big part of social interaction for primary school children. Children who struggle socially often have a hard time coping with winning and losing. They may argue, cheat, shove, or become very upset if things don't go their way. This spoils the fun for other kids.

If your child struggles in this area, you may want to build up your child's tolerance for losing at home. Start with cooperative games or "beat your own record" contests, and work your way up to brief and then longer competitive games. Emphasise that winning and losing are temporary. Explain to your child that we can't always win the game, but we can always "win the fun" by enjoying the company of playmates.

Morning Assembly:  Word of the Day

Over the past few weeks at our morning assembly we have encouraged positive behaviour and enjoyed expanding our vocabulary by naming each day of the week for example: Marvellous Monday, Talented Tuesday, Well-Mannered Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday and Fortunate Friday. We discussed the meaning of the word and encouraged the students to take on these positive behaviours for the day. Today was Tenacious Tuesday where we asked the students to be strong, persistent and determined in their learning. NEVER GIVE UP and KEEP on TRYING!

Art Show

Parents are invited to view our amazing art works in our school library either before the Easter Hat parade (from 2.00pm) next Tuesday or after the parade. All winners will be announced next Tuesday morning.

Have a wonderful week
