NEWS & ADMINISTRATION
Mrs Caroline Galea
Dear Parents
This will be the last newsletter for Term 1. It's hard to believe that one term has already whizzed by. This term, we have had a number of events and celebrations and Term 2 proves to be just as exciting.
This term, we will be bidding farewell to one of our much loved staff members who has resigned in order to travel. Keely Lowry will be leaving Holy Name and will be replaced by Keryn Heenan. Keryn is a very experienced teacher who is relocating from Queensland to Melbourne.
You may see Keely around the school in Term 2 as she waits for her departure date.
On a very different note, could I please ask families to be conscious of the morning classroom routine. While I can appreciate that there are times something has happened and you need to let your child's classroom teacher know, 8:50am is starting time for school. Unless you work in a school environment, most people do not realise how much our school day/lessons are governed by time. It is extremely important that our staff begin their day on time. Therefore unless it is of utmost importance, please either send an email or talk to them after school.
Family Fun Day
Thank you to the many wonderful families who helped out, supported and attended our Family Fun Day. From all reports, it was a wonderful day. I have heard from some of the Principals in our neighbouring schools, that they are being asked why their school doesn't conduct one.
Maths Week
This week the children celebrated Maths Week. Please refer to the Numeracy page of this newsletter for more information.
Canteen
Finally some Canteen news. Next term, we will be once again having hot food sales.
At this stage it will only be on Thursday until further notice. The first day that you will be able to order a hot lunch is on Thursday May 4th. Thank you to Jamaica Blue in Northland for taking this on.
Ordering will be through the usual Schools24 app.
Prep Finishing Time Term 2
Our Prep students have settled in really well to school life. As Term 2 starts, please note that the Prep students will be dismissed on the second bell like the rest of the school.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent teacher interviews will be on Tuesday 4th April 1:30 - 8:00pm.
** School finishes at 1.00pm on this day.
If you need After School Care for the early finish, please book with Camp Australia.
Holy Week
We invite all parents to join with us for Holy Week celebrations.
Curriculum Levies
A reminder to families that the curriculum levies are due by the end of Term 1.
Payment can be made by cash, eftpos, credit card (in person or over the phone), Bpay or you can set up a Direct Debit.
Thank you.....
