Ninja Nation Salt Program

During Term 1 and Term 4, the Senior Primary students engage in some different learning opportunities on Friday afternoon. We call this time SALT which stands for Senior Active Learning Time.

One of the activities the students get to engage in is a 4 week block attending Ninja Nation. This is a facility set up to test students' agility, perseverance, strength as well as being heaps of fun! Students are taught by the excellent coaches at Ninja Nation who help the students understand how to attempt certain physical challenges such as hanging, swinging, landing, jumping and other skills needed to 'be a ninja'.

We've been attending Ninja Nation for the last 4 years and are fortunate to have such a fun and unique place to take our students.

Woodwork SALT Program

Bang! Rrrrrrrr! Crack! Whirrrr! The SPs began their hands-on responses to help our native birds survive during hot and dry weather periods in our neighbourhood. We talked about the changing climate around us: more droughts and fires and what that means for our native animals. The SPs are building bird feeders and water troughs to help the birds in our backyards – especially when they may not be able to find food and water elsewhere. This forms part of our SP unit on Science and Human Endeavour.
