Primary School

From the Head of Primary

Last Friday our super group of Year Sixes ran our first House Sports Afternoon. The afternoon was run as part of our Friday pastoral care period in conjunction with the Year Six leadership development programme. A small group of capable Year Sixes ran a range of games, activities and relays with our ECC students whilst the remainder of the Year Sixes ran a round-robin soccer competition with Years Three to Six. In the Year Three/Four league, Wilson came out victorious ahead of Camfield, Baudin then Mokare. The Year Five/Six league was won by Baudin, followed by Mokare, Wilson then Camfield. The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity for some House camaraderie before the swimming carnival next week and allowed our younger students the opportunity to develop a rapport with their fellow House members.

Students across all year levels have been enjoying the last of our summer (Bunuru) weather and regularly visiting our outside learning spaces. Our Wild Space (Oyster Harbour foreshore) is the perfect spot for taking your learning outside, getting back to nature and enjoying the environment we are so blessed to have a school built upon. From observing nature and mini beasts to building cubbies to using the view as a writing stimulus, the Wild Space has been a hive of activity.

Each Wednesday Miss Hard and Mrs Clifford also take a group of students to the Wild Space as part of our Horizons programme. Please enjoy the photos below as a snippet of what the Wild Space offers our students.

School Values

For the past two weeks, we have looked at the School value 'Integrity' – being honest and trustworthy, even when no one is watching.

Well done to those who received recognition for showing this value: Sebastian Pyle, Freya Hueppauff, Pippa Hancock, Pippa Daniel, Bo Anning, Edward Yeboah, Kate Levett, Maddie Stratico and Samuel Forgus.

Congratulations to our ECC Stars of the Week: Samuel Inglis, Phoebe Weatherill, Annabelle Brennan, Mackenzie Maynard and Ally Buxton.

For the following two weeks, we will focus on the value of commitment – being dedicated and loyal.

Have a safe and restful long weekend.
