Nacha & Sadie engaging in numeracy activities for their Place Value unit of learning
From Amanda, Year 3 teacher
In numeracy Year 3 students have been learning about place value. Practicing reading numbers correctly, writing numbers using digits and words, partitioning numbers into their place value positions and renaming numbers have been assisting students to increase their numeracy fluency and understanding.
Students receive an abundance of opportunities to work with others. Games are a common method used to increase engagement with the learning content. Our classes have loved taking up the challenge of reading large numbers in the game ‘Bamboozled’.
Ask your child at home what their favourite game in Numeracy has been this year.
