Learning Place Value

From Kaajal, Year 2 teacher

Year 2 are approaching the end of our unit on Place Value. Our focus for the last few weeks has been on: naming and recording, making and representing, comparing and ordering and renaming numbers. We have used a range of different math tools in this unit like dice, cards, MAB, unifix and place value houses. These materials have really helped us understand and show the value of numbers in different ways. We have also loved learning about place value through games like 'Bamboozled and Squeeze'.

We are really looking forward to teaching our parents these place value games when they come and join our maths session in a couple of weeks time.
