Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart School Community,

Welcome to Term Two. I hope that you had a well earned break if you were able to take the opportunity to have a holiday over the Easter period.

Last Friday our Premier announced some relaxation of the COVID protocols some of which apply to the primary school setting. The main changes that you need to be aware of are:

masks are no longer required to be worn by students or staff (visitors including parents are not required to wear masks as well). If any parents would prefer their child to continue wearing a mask, we will fully support their decision

visitors to our school including parents (unless in the act of working) are no longer required to show their vaccination certificate. This includes parents as part of our school Board, Parents and Friends Committee and parents as classroom helpers

students who are family contacts no longer need to isolate. They can come to school as long as they perform five RAT (please ask our school for additional RATs) over the seven days after contact. If a second person in the family contacts COVID then the student needs to isolate for seven days

RAT tests will continue for all our students for the first four weeks of this term. All students will receive a box of tests this afternoon and parents are again asked to test their children twice a week. In the event of a student testing positive, I ask that you continue to contact the school immediately.

Thank you for the way you have so cooperatively worked with us to minimize the instances of COVID within our school.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Tierney
