Getting into the house spirit at the Coburg track

Our school Athletics carnival is always a fun and exciting day, and this year was no different. It was great to see so many students getting in the house spirit wearing their team colours and cheering hard as competitors were coming down the home straight.  

We had track and field events running throughout the day with many students competing in their chosen events or even taking the opportunity to try something that they haven’t done before.  As always the novelty events were popular, and the tug of war didn’t fail to disappoint with what seemed to be whole entire year levels competing. 

We are currently working through the results from the track and field events to put together the team of athletes who have qualified to complete in the Divisional Competition which is in Week 5 of Term 2. 

The sport Department would like to thank all the Sports Captains, Student Sports Leadership, Peers Support students and staff who helped us run such a successful day. 

Results : 1st  Merri with 276 points, 2nd  Cooper - 266 points, 3rd Sumner - 264 and 4th Plenty 254 .
