Kilvington ELC - an 'exceeding' rating from the Department of Education and Training

A resounding congratulations to our Early Learning Centre which was recently awarded an ‘exceeding’ rating following a rigorous assessment and rating process conducted by the Department of Education and Training.

In early childhood services, this assessment occurs approximately every five to six years, and is a cooperative process designed to determine what rating level a service meets based on the National Quality Standards (NQS) and the requirements of the National Regulations.

A key focus of the Assessment is to promote continuous quality improvement.

The NQS includes seven 'Quality Areas' that are important outcomes for children. Services are assessed and rated against the standards within each Quality Area, and given a rating for each of these Quality Areas, and an overall rating based on these results.

Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS) means going above and beyond what is expected for a Standard. All Standards within a Quality Area need to be rated exceeding for that Quality Area to be rated exceeding.

Kilvington Grammar ELC received the highest rating that was sought – all seven Quality Areas received an exceeding rating, with an overall rating of exceeding for the Centre.

I am extremely proud of our achievement and the talents of our outstanding educators, who are a testament to this excellent result.
