a word from leadership

Reconciliation week

As we conclude this year's Reconciliation Week, we'd like to (again) direct you to our heart for Reconciliation. In 2021, Connected Schools developed a Vision for Reconciliation. Please find the link to the video below. Take time to look, listen and reflect on the words and what it means for us as communities of faith and respect.

Worshipping together

Parents are invited and encouraged back to whole school worship next week - Wednesday 8th June. We celebrate this return to community together! Face masks must be worn indoors by parents, visitors and contractors.

School values in action!

Do you remember the school's Facebook post below? If you didn't see it, it was way back in December 2020. Good Shepherd donated a suite of devices to disadvantaged students in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap (Cambodia) via ConnectEd Cambodia.

Due to Covid restrictions, the delivery of these tablet computers had been significantly delayed, but they arrived this week!

John Manning (pictured with Mr. Humphrys) is one of the ConnectEd Cambodia founders and delivered the donations himself. Below is an excerpt from a communication that he made to our school.

'Just left the PIO school, handed over the Infinity One laptops. They loved them, already planning what to do with them. The Principal there has an IT background and is writing his own apps for the students to use on the donated devices.

Please let your school community know that this is going to make a difference. We're not a massive NGO system that things disappear into."

This donation and resulting support of those less fortunate that ourselves is a fantastic 'living out' of our school's values of Love, Optimism and Creativity.

We also see these values espoused by our students each and every day. Whether it be through the learning that takes place, an interaction with a staff member in the yard, or the positive influence that children choose to have through encouragement and support of one another.

Thank you!

To all of the volunteers and parent helpers involved in the Stage 4 experiences.  Also for the passionate group of parents who joined our Learning Support teacher Kate and Anne to learn more about our Decodable reading program.  We look forward to working in partnership with you supporting the students.  We are so excited to have you back on site.
