EISM Swimming Championships
The EISM Swimming Championships, held on Monday 28 March, was a successful event for all our swimmers. However, three in particular walked away with more than one medal each!
Dakoda Mathers (11.16) received a gold medal for Open Girls 50m Backstroke and three silver medals in the 100m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly.
Une Geisler (10.17) broke the EISM U/16 Boys 25m Backstroke record with a time of 28.56. The previous record was 29.81. Une also received a gold medal for 50m Breaststroke and a silver for the 50m Freestyle.
Ruan Rademeyer (10.17) impressed again, by swimming in the Open Division, winning a silver in the Open 50m Backstroke and two bronze; one for 50m Freestyle and one for 50m Breaststroke in the Open division.
Our other medal winners were Lucy Weighell (8.2) with a bronze in the 50m Backstroke, Sanaa Geisler (7.5) bronze in the 50m Freestyle and bronze for the U/13 Boys Freestyle Relay team with Sanaa Geisler, Lucas Mann (7.5), Staley Liao (7.4) and Tom Weighell (7.5).
Other individual swimmers were Piper Corrigan (7.3), Henry Zhao (8.23) and Izabella Barnett (11.14). Although they missed out on medals, they all improved on their personal best.
Congratulations to each of these students on their efforts and achievements!
EISM Sport Term 2
With COVID restrictions affecting sport early on this term, only one of our EISM Senior Sport teams made it to Grand Finals. Congratulations to our Boys Table Tennis team! Seniors as well, as all the other year levels will start a new EISM season in Term 2.
Year 7 students will have their first round of competition on Monday 2 May, while Year 8 and 9 students will have their second round on Thursday 5 May. We already had a first round with only our Year 8s representing the school, due to Year 9s being on City Cite. Seniors will have their first round on Wednesday 18 May.
Students who performed well during our House Athletics Carnival are reminded to keep training during the school holidays. Our EISM Division 2 Athletics is on Tuesday 3 May.
