Principal's Report

Congratulations everyone on making it (almost) to the end of Term 1. What a cracking term it has been, and I know that I for one, am super proud of the efforts of all the students and staff here at Launching Place Primary School. I would like to thank everyone for making my first term as Principal here so fantastic. It has been great to get to know people, especially the amazing students, and I have learned so much in my time here. I would like to wish you all a safe break, and a wonderful Easter. Easter celebrations are my favourite time of the year, and I always look forward to special time with my family on Good Friday where we have a huge family feast! I hope you all have some special family time as well, and use the holidays as a chance to relax and recharge.

Easter Hat Parade and Raffle

Thankyou so much to families who donated chocolates and easter eggs for our raffle on Friday. Students will all have a chance to be a winner with every student being in the raffle. We felt that this was a positive way to end off what has been a long term, and for the school community to come together for an event after such a long time under heavy restrictions. We would love to see parents come along to the parade on Friday morning on the lower basketball court.

Staffing changes

I would like to congratulate Mr Brent Smith on his successful appointment to Wandin North PS for the remainder of the year. We wish Mr Smith all the best in his new appointment, and look forward to him returning to Launching Place PS in Term 1, 2023. While Mr Smith is away, Mrs Bishop and Mrs Taylor will be taking over the class.

Working Bee

We are excited to be holding a family working bee in the first week of Term 2. We would love to invite parents to hang back for a while after school on Friday the 29th of April from 3-5pm to help out with some work around the school. This may include things such as weeding, planting, clearing areas, preparing ground for further works and clearing debris etc. More detailed information in relation to the work/tools/expertise needed will be out in the next few weeks.

Rapid Antigen Tests

As you may have heard in the media in the last few days, the supply of RATs to schools will continue for the first 4 weeks of Term 2. A box of RATs will come home with each student today, and we will send more out as they arrive. The recommendation is still to have students testing twice per week, and we thank parent for their cooperation with this.

Good luck Miss Mackie

As mentioned in the last newsletter, we wish Miss Mackie all the best for her wedding next week. The Prep/1 students had fun celebrating with her this week!

Have a great break, and we look forward to seeing you in Term 2!

Kind regards,

Jess
