ConnecTED Learning

Year 7 started their school year with two transition days where they were immersed in workshops on technology, inquiry learning and peer support.  Student focus and participation was amazing to watch and allowed for a very positive and confident start to their first year of high school.

In ConnecTED Learning we have launched our Initiation and Belonging unit. We opened the topic with a liturgy led by Mrs Bright, a letter to their Year 12 self and an historical tour of Mater Dei.

Students are working towards creating their own representation of initiation or belonging.  We can’t wait to see how they use prior knowledge, research and technology skills to create their first presentation.

As part of the English curriculum we’ve started reading DRAGONKEEPER by Carole Wilkinson, and logged on to Literacy Planet.  Students are asked to complete a minimum of 15 tasks on Literacy Planet per week and are encouraged to read a book of their choice at home.

Well done on your fantastic start at Mater Dei.  We think this year is going to be exceptional!
