Term 1 in STEM

As Term 1 comes to an end, I would quickly like to congratulate all students on their return back to the classroom. Picking up routines after such a long break can be difficult, but students have returned with smiles and have adopted our School Wide Positive Behaviour ladders with ease. It is great to see students walking into the STEM room "Ready to Learn" and trying their best to move up the ladder. For parents at home, it is a great conversation opportunity to check in with your children and discuss their position on the SWPB ladder after a day at school.

There have been some great learning opportunities in STEM this term, with many students being introduced to unfamiliar STEM topics for the first time. Personal highlights have included; helping our new Prep students explore the concept of observing by developing their body's 5 senses, making Oobleck with the Grade 3s and creating digital models of the Solar System with our Grade 6 students. The Grade 5 STEM Achievers group have also been busy making progress on their vertical garden project by researching, designing and collaborating with each other to choose the most suitable materials for their gardens.

Next term will see students undertaking a range of fresh new topics, with lots more learning opportunities. Stay tuned for more to come!!
