Year 6 Report
As Term One draws to an end, the Grade 6 team reflect on an amazing start to our final year at Roxy! The 6's have had a great start to the year with many exciting adventures already had. We've been to Anglesea for our final camp, participated in a First Aid - CPR lesson, build upon our teamwork skills through an interactive team building session, competed in our Summer Sports Gala day, attended the family movie night and lastly, enjoyed ourselves at this years Colour Run!
Literacy
This term in Literacy, the Grade 6 students have worked tirelessly to produce some incredible advertisements. Students have unpacked the advertisements we see every day, discussing what elements the marketing companies have used to entice us to buy their products. We have explored different language features we as advertisers can use to persuade our audience, including urgency, exaggeration and our favourite, celebrity endorsements. Below are some of the amazing published pieces created by our Grade 6's.
Numeracy
This term, the Grade 6's have worked incredibly hard further developing their place value knowledge. The students have explored decimal numbers, including developing their abilities to round, add, subtract and multiply decimals. Students have linked their new understandings to their everyday lives. The Grade 6's have also used MangaHigh to practice their numeracy skills, with many striving for excellence, achieving bronze, silver and gold medals! Well done 6's, you are true mathematicians!

Inquiry
This term, Grade 6's have explored the topic of 'Identity'. Discussing what makes us who we are, from our personal values and beliefs to our attributes. The students have created comics to reflect our values, written bio-poems and created collages of their identity.
