Year 1/2 News

Welcome to Term 2!

We welcome back our 1/2 students and families to another busy term! 

For inquiry this term, we are focusing on Design and Technology.  The investigation areas allow for students to explore this topic throughout the term. The students have enjoyed exploring their new investigation areas, reconnecting with their peers and engaging in new learning. 

Wellbeing 

This term we will be exploring the five senses through mindfulness. Last week the children engaged in learning about our hearing/listening sense. Students learned about mindful listening and how this strategy can help our bodies feel calm and present. 

After the students practised a meditation, we explored our outdoor space with a focus on the four senses - listening, looking, touching and smelling:

Maths

This week in maths, students have been learning about fractions. Year 1 students have been investigating the concept of halves and Year 2 students have been exploring halves, thirds, quarters, sixths and eighths. 

Parent Helpers

This term we welcome the parent helpers into our learning space. The teachers and children appreciate your support and time. Please make sure your details are updated, let us know and we will add you to the roster.
