Great Victorian Bike Ride Success!

A huge congratulations to those who were part of our 2019 Great Victorian Bike team. We had a total of 52 participants represent Beaumaris Secondary College – 38 students, 11 parents and 3 staff.

Throughout the GVBR each participant was taken outside their comfort zone and placed in an unfamiliar setting where they each had to demonstrate their determination and persistence, as they were tested both mentally and physically. All participants should be extremely proud of themselves for completing the 303km journey from Port Fairy to Torquay. We were certainly fortunate to have been able to share in this amazing experience together!

For those of you interested in the 2020 Great Victorian Bike Ride (GVBR), it is considered Australia’s biggest and most iconic riding experience. This rolling bike festival pedals to a new town each day, setting up camp where riders can soak up an incredible atmosphere. Next year, seasoned campaigners and new riders will come together to share in the three, five or nine day experience, camping and cycling through some of the most picturesque pockets of the country. In 2020 we, as a school, are yet to decide regarding which experience we will participate in, as we explore the Art Silos and the Grampians.
