State Cross Country

Best wishes to Ned, SU3, who is competing in the 3 km Boys 11 Year event at the State Cross Country Championships at Bundoora Park today. Ned has trained hard for this event and his efforts and talent have really paid off! Ned has progressed from School to District to Division, then on to Region and finally State level in this challenging event. His fabulous efforts are to be congratulated! Well done Ned! We wish him every success at this very high level of competition.

BREAKING NEWS....

Ned came 54th out of a field of 92 in today’s State Champs for cross country (3kms, time of 11:43).

House Sports/Athletics Trials Day – Year 4-6

Next Wednesday is our House Sports/Athletics Trial day for Years 4-6. The purpose of this day is two-fold: for fun, fitness and participation in Athletics events to score points for House Teams, and also, it is the selection trials for our District Inter-school Athletics Championships being held at La Trobe University Athletics Complex in Bendigo on August 22nd.

During the trial day, students will rotate through a range of athletics events in order to gain points for their House Teams. Events will take place at WPS and in the Gilbert Gordon Oval area. The Sports/Trial Day will begin at approximately 9.10 am and finish around 1 pm.

Children participating are encouraged to wear their House Team colours and should dress in appropriate athletics attire. The day is all about having fun, having a go and trying your best. I’m sure our students will display their fabulous sportsmanship at this event!

Parents and friends are welcome to come along and support the children. If any parent can help at any event, this would be fantastic and so much appreciated. Please offer your assistance on or before the day via email connell.sharon.m@edumail.vic.gov.au.
