Principal’s Message

Congratulations, Year 6

Last Friday we celebrated our Year 6 students with a special Mass and morning tea.  Special thanks to everyone who made it such a special occasion - Fr Anthony, Mr Perkins, Mr O'Toole, Mrs Creigh and Mrs Bearman.  Thank you to Mrs Chaffey for setting up the cake and cordial.  It was great to see so many parents and families attending to acknowledge this important milestone.  I wish our Year 6 students all the very best as they start their secondary schooling.

Good Luck (but not goodbye!), Mr O'Toole

On Friday it was announced that Mr O'Toole has accepted a secondment to St Edward's School for 2020 and will return to St Joseph's in 2021.  On behalf of the staff, I thank Greg for his outstanding support over the past two years, particularly in regards to his input into the building project.  We wish him all the best for next year and await his return to our staff in 2021. Mr Peter Flynn will join Mrs Maree Holland as co-Assistant Principal next year.  Mr Flynn is currently the Assistant Principal at St Michael's, Manilla and is looking forward to joining the St Joseph's staff next year.   Please see inside the newsletter for 2020 teachers and classes.

We are moving in!

Over the coming week, the staff and I will be extremely busy packing up and moving into the new building which will house the primary classes (Stage 2 and 3) in 2020.  Our school administration block, staff room, library, Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms are being renovated in the second stage of the project.  This is a very exciting but busy time for us and we ask for your patience and support as modifications are made to our school.  The new entrance to the school will be changed and the admin office will be temporarily located at the front of the hall.  There will be changes in our pick-up and bus areas which we will communicate to parents before school resumes next year.  The new building and the hall look outstanding.  We feel extremely grateful for our new facilities and can't wait to move in!

Presentation Night

Please join us in our last event for the year at TREC tomorrow night for our Presentation Night.  Each class is involved in either choir or dance as we celebrate the end of another year of learning and fun at St Joseph's.  Thank you to Mr O'Toole for co-ordinating the evening and all our staff for their hard work in preparing for the night.  Please join us at TRECC on Tuesday 17th December at 7pm.

Thank you to everyone on the St Joseph's team for their dedication to the students and their families over the past twelve months.    We have had a busy year with extraordinary additions to our normal work load with the building project and I appreciate everyone's commitment (and patience). Thank you to all our parents, families and friends for your support over the past year.  I wish all of the staff, students and families a very happy, holy and safe Christmas.
