Strategic Plan 2023 and Beyond

The College continues to work with the Endeavour College Board to finalise the College’s strategic plan. I look forward to sharing this with the community shortly. The strategic plan will look at factors including our Lutheran faith, the future of education, our community, learning culture, structure, resources, facilities and sustainability.

Mobile Phone use

Endeavour College will continue to reflect and review our policy documentation in line with government mandates and best practice. The government has announced the following information for Public Schools:

“The South Australian State Government is banning mobile phones in all public high schools as of the start of Term 3 2023.

The government wants to create the best possible learning environment for our students. To do this, students must feel safe and want to engage.

This will ensure they help promote:

  • safe environments with reduced negative impacts from inappropriate use of devices at school, such as cyberbullying or exposure to harmful content
  • classroom environments where teachers can teach, and students can learn, free from distractions caused by personal use of devices.
  • use of breaks as quality time away from screens, encouraging physical activity, play and meaningful face-to-face connections.

Exemptions

  • There are some exceptions to this rule for medical, learning difficulties or extenuating personal circumstances.

Communicating with your child at school

  • Schools have communication processes available so that you can get in touch with your child during school hours if you need to.
  • Likewise, school staff will contact you directly if needed."

Endeavour College will review our mobile phone policy in consultation with other Independent and Lutheran schools and update the community as necessary.
