Grade 3/4 News

Loving learning every day with Miss Stephan, Mrs Jacobs and Miss Mawby!

Special help from Mr Reid, Mr Hayward, Mrs Harrison and Miss Linda.

We have had a busy week in the 3/4 classrooms! We have continued our literacy work on The Elves and Shoemakers, and have been looking at time connectives and dependent clauses , which have these been really stretching our brains! We have been finding synonyms and antonyms for our vocabulary word to use in the fantastic complex sentences we have been writing.

In fluid group maths we have continued our focus on the relationship between addition and subtraction, renaming and rounding, and why it is important for us to be able to use these skills. We have also been learning some fun new warm-up games to get our maths brains ready to learn. We have been learning about time in classroom maths, and looking at both analogue and digital times, and how these skills are relevant to our everyday lives.

Integrated Studies has been getting more and more interesting. We have been looking at the Earth, lifecycles, and ecosystems. Our minds were blown when we saw how tiny Earth was from 6 billion kilometres away! We have also taken the opportunity to explore our school environment, and the ecosystems that we have found in our school, how we have changed our environment, and the ways in which we are helping our environment.
