Playground Upgrades.

Beaufort Primary School has been successful in gaining a Federal Government grant to upgrade some of our playground space.  We will be working with Groundworks Ballarat to complete this work.

We are looking forward to seeing what our final play space will look like.

We are also in the process of having some oval works completed to improve the surface and drainage. This unfortunately means that our oval is currently out of bounds to both primary and secondary school students and the general public. Once the oval is levelled and drainage is fixed, irrigation / sprinkler systems will be installed, and the oval will be reseeded.

We are awaiting a reply from the Stockyard Wond Farm regarding a grant application that would assist in the makeover of our 2 current playgrounds, replacing the soft fall bark with playground rubber matting.

From the Principal

This very busy term is going by way too quickly. Next Wednesday, we are halfway through Term 2. With this in mind, our teachers will be starting their mid-year assessments that will help inform our school reports. Throughout the year, teachers have been informally assessing students learning progress, on a weekly basis. These formal assessments will consolidate our understanding around where all students sit against the curriculum and the progress they are making with their learning.

This week, we took 17 students to the District Cross Country. All students put in 100% effort and should be very proud of their personal achievements. We are proud of you all!

I would like to formally thank the Parents and Friends who coordinated the Mother's/Special Person's breakfast Club and the Mother's Day stalls last week. It is often these small things that put the biggest smiles on our students' faces and helps parents feel welcome within our school.  Thank you, also, to our mums and special people who came to Breakfast Club.

Parents of our upper grade students would have noticed that we are currently using the Beaufort Council Community Bus to help with our excursions, when numbers allow. The costs of buses are currently double what we have paid in the past, therefore, to lower the costs for our families, we will be looking at this option, when smaller groups are going on excursion. When whole cohort or year levels are going, we will still need to use external bus companies. We thank any of our parents have been able to support with carpooling to also support these programs.
