Mr Irwin's Message

Hello families and welcome to this week’s newsletter!

Upcoming Pupil Free Day

On Friday June 9th we have scheduled a Professional Practice Day for teaching staff, meaning this will be a pupil free day. Community OSH are open for bookings for this day for care if required and have a fun day planned for any children attending.

Notifying of absence at school

I wanted to remind families of the requirements for notifying the school when your child is late or absent. When your child is late or absent a reason for this absence can be provided in the following ways; via Sentral/Email, an absence slip or a call to the office. Absences that don’t receive an explanation are listed as ‘unexplained’ and may result in further follow up to ensure all students are regularly attending school.

Winter Woes!

Even though we are yet to hit winter, sickness season is well and truly upon us in the community. Jackets and beanies can be a good backpack addition at this time of year to keep students warm during the day and we are fortunate to have good facilities to keep classrooms warm and comfortable. A reminder during this time that if students are unwell they need to remain at home to rest or seek medical treatment. Germs can spread quickly in classrooms at this time of year and as much as possible we want to limit the time students and teachers need to have away unwell. As always we appreciate our families support with this.

Senior School Camp

This week information will be sent home to our 3 senior school classes regarding their camp in the last week of term. For the first time we are heading to Urban Camp in Melbourne. School Council has chosen Urban Camp as part of our camping program as it provides a unique environment for our country kids to experience.

Enrolment Information Evening

Tonight is our enrolment information evening for prospective families. Do you have a younger sibling to enrol or know a neighbour who has a child to enrol? Now is the time to start thinking about 2024 and confirming your foundation enrolment for 2024. This allows us to confirm expected enrolment numbers and begin getting to know students and their needs ahead of 2024. Tonight’s information session will be held from 6:00pm in the Junior School Building.

Best Wishes Mrs Teague

This Friday Mrs Teague heads off to commence her maternity leave. We wish her, her husband Michael and son Teddy all the best as they await the arrival of their new family.

Thats all the messages for this week, bye for now!
