CURRICULUM FOCUS

We are learning to identify the structure of a narrative text.

VOCABULARY

Identify: to know and say who someone is or what something is.

Structure: the overall organisation of a piece of writing.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Have your child watch a short clip of their favourite Pixar/Disney movie and identify the structural elements of the story. Get them to record their answers as they are watching, or once they have finished watching. Does the clip follow the standard narrative structure, if so what is that? If not, what is missing?
